The NOA 200 Club
200 Club Rules
The name of the lottery is “The NOA 200 Club”, henceforth referred to as The Club.
- The objective of The Club is to raise funds for the NOA to support essential staff, while at the same time allowing members of The Club to win significant cash prizes.
- The Club Administrator, who will be appointed by the Board of Trustees, will administer The Club.
- Membership of The Club will be open to anyone over the age of 16.
- Membership of The Club will not be limited to members of the NOA.
- Members are entitled to purchase any number of shares in the lottery.
- The number of shares in the lottery shall be unlimited and each share shall be allocated a unique number. Tickets, however, will not be issued.
- All shares are non-transferrable.
- The Club will hold 4 draws per year. These will coincide with the quarterly NOA newsletters.
- All draws will be conducted by the NOA Treasurer in the presence of a quorum of trustees. Numbers will be selected by a computer random number generator.
- The results of the draws will be published in the NOA Newsletters and on the NOA website, www.noa.org.uk .
- Up to 50% of the total monies paid for shares will be allocated for prize money. This will be allocated as follows:
First prize: 50% of prize money
Second prize: 25% of prize money
Third prize: 10% of prize money
Fourth prizes: 3 X 5.0% of prize money
Actual amounts will be on a pro rata basis depending on the number of shares purchased at the time of each individual draw. The first prize will not exceed £250.00 and other prizes will remain in proportion.
- Members with winning shares will be notified by post after each draw at the last known address held by The Club Administrator. A cheque for the amount won will be included with the notification. It is the responsibility of all participants to keep The Club Administrator notified of any change of address. Any prize cheque not cashed within 6 months of the draw will be deemed a donation to The Club.
- Each share in the lottery will cost £24 per year and must be paid in advance, either annually by cheque, made payable to ‘NOA – 200 Club', or standing order. Or by quarterly standing orders of £6.00.
- Monies cannot be refunded under any circumstances.
- The Club Administrator will determine all disputes.
- The Norfolk Ornithologists' Association may amend or vary the rules of The Club at any time. All changes will be notified to participants via the NOA quarterly newsletter and via the NOA website.
- The lottery is intended to be a Private Lottery under the provisions of the Gambling Act 2005.
