At Holme NOA seawatching produced 2 Pintail, 10 Common Scoter and a Great Crested Grebe. A Barn Owl was hunting mid afternoon and 15 Snow Buntings were on the beach. On the reserve a Great Spotted Woodpecker, 2 Fieldfares, 2 Bramblings and 2 Stonechats were of note.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 281 Wigeon, 3 Eider, 2 Common Scoter, 6 Goldeneye, 2 Red-breasted Mergansers, 6 Red-throated Divers, 1 Black-throated Diver, 19 Great Crested Grebes and 5 Auk species. On the marsh 2 Barn Owls and a Marsh Harrier were of note, and on the reserve 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 2 Stonechats and 2 Bramblings were near the Observatory. At least 6 Fieldfares were in the scrub.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 4 Eider, 3 Red-throated Divers, 1 Black-throated Diver and 15 Great Crested Grebes. A Marsh Harrier was hunting mid morning and a Barn Owl was also noted. A male Blackcap and at least 3 Bramblings were near the feeding station. A single Snow Bunting was feeding on the beach mid afternoon.

On the reserve 2 Water Rails were calling, 2 Barn Owls were hunting and 3 Stonechats were of note. 10 Fieldfares and 6 Bramblings were in the scrub. Along Thornham bank 2 Lapland Buntings were recorded, and 700+ Golden Plover and 400+ Oystercatchers were in Thornham Harbour.

A Barn Owl was hunting the marsh early afternoon, and a female Great Spotted Woodpecker and 6 Bramblings were at the feeding station. 2 Stonechats were in front of the Observatory all day, 18 Fieldfares were on the site, and 2 Siskins and 4 Redpolls flew over mid morning.

Waders included 10 Grey Plover, 16 Knot, 4 Sanderling, 5 Dunlin, 77 Bar-tailed Godwits and 12 Turnstones. A Barn Owl was hunting the marsh late afternoon and a pair of Stonechats were in front of the Observatory. 20 Fieldfares, 4 Song Thrushes and 5 Redwings were also of note.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 400+ Common Scoter, 2 Red-throated Divers, 13 Great Crested Grebes, and 2 Fulmars. A first winter Iceland Gull flew west past Gore Point mid morning. 370+ Lapwings and 100+ Golden Plover were counted over the marsh and a female Marsh Harrier and a Barn Owl were also seen. 37 Fieldfares, 1 Redwing, 2 Goldcrests, 3 Bramblings and 30 Greenfinches were around the reserve and a Rock Pipit, 16 Meadow Pipits, 7 Twite and 12 Lapland Buntings were along Thornham Bank.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced Two Goldeneye, six Red-breasted Merganser and five Great Crested Grebe. Around the reserve four Bramblings still around the feeding station, a single Goldcrest in the pines and a Woodcock flushed from among the willow scrub and 20 Fieldfare feeding on the Sea Buckthorn.A Barn Owl braved the severe conditions to hunt out on the marsh. An estimated 12,000 Pink-footed Geese from the marsh to the horizon.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 15 Long-tailed Ducks, 6 Common Scoter, 1 Red-breasted Merganser, 14 Great Crested Grebes and 2 Fulmars. Over 6000 Pink-feet were on the marsh and a Marsh Harrier was hunting early morning. 2 Stonechats, 41 Linnets, 7 Twite and 6 Lapland Buntings were seen along Thornham Bank and on the reserve 45+ Fieldfares, a Song Thrush and 15 Bramblings were of note.
At Walsey Hills NOA there were 2 Firecrest reported.

Two Brambling coming to the seed feeders along with a Great-spotted Woodpecker. Only six Fieldfare remain from the influx from a few days ago but the sheer number of Pink-footed Geese remains a fantastic spetacular (over 3000 recorded today). 2 Woodcock were flushed late afternoon and on the sea a Red-throated Diver and 80 Common Scoter were of note. A Barn Owl was hunting early morning.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 3 Eider, 1 Long-tailed Duck, 1 Common Scoter,7 Red-breasted Mergansers, 3 Red-throated Divers and 9 Great Crested Grebes. A Water Rail, 2 Marsh Harriers, 3 Barn Owls, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker, a female Stonechat, 50+ Fieldfares, 2 Redwings, 8 Bramblings, 1 Lpaland Bunting and 25 Snow Buntings were noted during the day.
At Walsey Hills a Firecrest, 1 Stonechat, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, 1 Dunlin and a Barn Owl were of particular note.
An adult White-crowned Sparrow was in Cley village near the Three Swallows Pub.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced a single Common Scoter, 1 Red-breasted Merganser, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 1 Fulmar and 1 Kittiwake. Three Marsh Harriers and two Barn Owls were seen during the day, and 32 Snow Buntings were seen along the beach. A male Stonechat was on the reserve together with 60 Fieldfares, 2 Redwings and 2 Bramblings.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 9 Eider, 2 Common Scoter, 2 Goldeneye, 15 Red-breasted Mergansers, 18 Red-throated Divers, 3 Great Crested Grebes, 1 Fulmar, 6 Kittiwakes and 10 Gannets. 2 Marsh Harriers a Barn Owl and a Little Egret were around the marsh, a Peregrine was seen along the beach, and 2 Stonechats, 70+ Fieldfares, 2 Bramblings and a Siskin were on the reserve.

A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OUR MEMBERS AND VISITORS
At Holme NOA 3000 Pink-feet and 100 Brents were around the marsh, 2 Eider flew west offshore and a Marsh Harrier was hunting mid afternoon. A female Great Spotted Woodpecker was in the scrub and over 100 Fieldfares were on the reserve. A male Blackcap was in the dell and 4 Goldcrests were in the pines. 18 Snow Buntings flew east along the beach around midday.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 56 Brent Geese, 6 Shelduck, 33 Wigeon, 4 Teal, 2 Pintail, 2 Eider, 4 Long-tailed Ducks, 1230 Common Scoter, 31 Goldeneye, 8 Red-breasted Mergansers, 9 Goosanders, 11 Red-throated Divers, 3 Black-throated Divers, 22 Great Crested Grebes, 1 Fulmar and 1 juvenile Gannet. A Marsh Harrier was seen mid morning and a Barn Owl was hunting early afternoon. A Great Spotted Woodpecker, 8 Goldcrests and 40+ Fieldfares were on the reserve and a Rock Pipit flew over calling.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 30 Wigeon, 21 Eider, 9 Long-tailed Ducks, 500+ Common Scoter, 1 Goldeneye, 6 Red-breasted Mergansers, 5 Red-throated Divers, 5 Great Crested Grebes, 3 Fulmars and a single Gannet. On the marsh 2 Ross' Geese and 4 Barnacle Geese were with Pink-feet and Brents, and a male Stonechat was noted. 25 Fieldfares, 2 Bramblings, 3 Siskins and a Snow Bunting were also counted.

A Marsh Harrier was over the marsh mid morning and a Little Egret was noted. 4 Golden Plover, a Great Spotted Woodpecker and 15 Siskins were also recorded during the day.
At Walsey Hills 5 Bewicks Swans flew over west, a Merlin was of note and 2 Bullfinches were in the scrub. 13 Siskins also flew west and a male Stonechat and a Cetti's Warbler were recorded. A Ring-tailed Hen Harrier flew east over the serpentine.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 7 Eider, 11 Common Scoter, 1 Velvet Scoter, 2 Red-breasted Mergansers, 3 Red-throated Divers, 1 Black-throated Diver, 2 Fulmars, 10 Gannets, 3 Pom Skuas and 72 Kittiwakes. A Barn Owl was hunting late afternoon and a Stonechat was along the approach road.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 2 Eider, 2 Long-tailed Ducks, 26 Common Scoter, 2 Red-breasted Mergansers, 4 Red-throated Divers, 7 Great Crested Grebes, 1 Pom Skua east and 33 Kittiwakes. A Rough-legged Buzzard was seen flying into the wash mid afternoon, and a Slavonian Grebe was on the east end of the Broadwater. Also of interest were 5 Little Egrets, a Cetti's Warbler calling, 46 Snow Buntings on the Saltings and a Chiffchaff near the Observatory.

At Holme NOA a drake Long-tailed Duck was noted and a female Marsh Harrier and two Water Rails were around the marsh. 2 Barn Owls were hunting, a single Redwing was near the marsh hides and 65 Snow Buntings were on the saltings near Gore Point.
Friday 7th December 2007
At Holme NOA seawatching produced an Eider, a Long-tailed Duck west, 2 Common Scoter, 2 Red-throated Divers, 1 Black-throated Diver, 13 Great Crested Grebes, 1 Slavonian Grebe, a single Fulmar and 8 Kittiwakes. A tern species with an orange bill was very unusual, but too distant to be fully identified. A Chiffchaff was in bushes by the Observatory and 3 Goldcrests were also of note. A Barn Owl was hunting in the afternoon and a Peregrine was also seen.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 3 Pintail, 15 Long-tailed Ducks, 1 Common Scoter, 1 Goldeneye, 4 Goosanders, 1 Red-throated Diver, 6 Great Crested Grebes, 2 Gannets and a skua species. Three Shorelarks were seen off the Golf Course and a Barn Owl was hunting late afternoon.
At Walsey Hills 2 Cetti's Warblers were on the reserve, 51 Curlew flew over south, 70 Pink-feet flew over and a Barn Owl was hunting behind the reserve. On Arnold's Marsh 121 Black-tailed Godwits, 96 Dunlin and 350 Golden Plover were recorded. A Water Rail was on Snipe's Marsh.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 1 Eider, 6 Red-breasted Mergansers, 7 Red-throated Divers, 1 Great Northern Diver, 4 Great Crested Grebes, 2 Fulmars and 2 Kittiwakes. Two Stonechats were around the reserve and a Chiffchaff was in the scrub. Three Siskins flew over the pines.
At Walsey Hills a single Swallow over west was a very late record. 2 Cetti's Warblers were at the foot of the reserve. On Arnold's Marsh an adult Whooper Swan, 44 Pintail, 178 Dunlin, 13 Avocets and a Spotted Redshank were noted.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 6 Long-tailed Ducks, 33 Common Scoter, 1 Goldeneye, 23 Red-breasted Mergansers, 2 Goosanders, 10 Red-throated Divers, 1 Great Northern Diver, 6 Great Crested Grebes, 1 Slavonian and 1 Red-necked Grebe, 1 Gannet, 1 Shag and 5 Kittiwakes. 800+ Pink feet and 150 Brents were noted during the day, 2 Little Egrets were around the marsh, a Water Rail was by the Broadwater, and 4 Rock Pipits were around Thornham bank together with 6 Lapland Buntings, 22 Linnets and a Stonechat. 60 Snow Buntings were seen along the beach mid morning.

Around the reserve a Woodcock was of note, a Water Rail was in the reeds and a Peregrine was hunting. A single Waxwing was mobile around the reserve during the day.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 75 Brent Geese, 2 Wigeon, 1 Teal, 3 Long-tailed Ducks, 56 Common Scoter, 2 Velvet Scoter, 4 Red-breasted Mergansers, 1 Red-throated Diver, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 1 Red-necked Grebe, 8 Gannets, 5 Pom Skuas, 40 Kittiwakes, 2 Guillemots and a Razorbill. Around the reserve 2 Stonechats, a Tawny Owl, a female Blackcap and one Chiffchaff were of particular note.

Three Stonechats were along the approach road and on the reserve 26 Blackbirds, 6 Fieldfares, 4 Redwings, 1 Blackcap, 18 Siskins and 3 Redpolls were of particular note.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 28 Wigeon, 4 Shelduck, 2 Eider, 4 Common Scoter, 4 Red-throated Divers, 1 Black-throated Diver, 13 Great Crested Grebes, 1 Slavonian Grebe, 8 Gannets, 4 Pom Skuas, 5 Great Skuas, a Razorbill and a tern sp. Three Redpolls, 15 Siskins, a female Blackcap, 45 Blackbirds, 30 Goldcrests, 1 Rock Pipit and a Tawny Owl were of particular note.
Three Red Admirals and a Small Tortoiseshell were on the reserve.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 7 Common Scoter, 4 Red-breasted Mergansers, 5 Red-throated Divers, 1 Black-throated Diver, 21 Great Crested Grebes, 1 Red-necked Grebe, 26 Gannets, 2 Guillemots and 1 Razorbill. A Tawny Owl was calling in the pines and a Peregrine was of note. A Rock Pipit and 2 Stonechats were also of interest, and a single Brambling was in the pines.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 6 Red-breasted Mergansers, 4 Red-throated Divers, 1 Great Crested Grebe and 2 Gannets. Two Shorelark flew in off the sea and 5 Rock Pipits flew over calling. A Kingfisher, a female Marsh Harrier and a Spotted Redshank were of note over the marsh. On the reserve 2 Stonechats, 2 Bramblings, 8 Redpolls and 2 Bullfinches were of note.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 1 Eider, 15 Common Scoter, 3 Red-throated Divers, 10 Great Crested Grebes, 1 Red-necked Grebe, and 5 Gannets west. Over 1600 Golden Plover flew west along the beach and 2500 Knot were counted. Raptors included a Peregrine and 2 Marsh Harriers. On the reserve a Woodcock, 1 Barn Owl, 1 Kingfisher, 10 Rock Pipits, 2 Stonechats, 86 Blackbirds, 1 Fieldfare, 4 Song Thrushes, 27 Redwings, 1 Blackcap, 36 Goldcrests, 5 Bramblings, 6 Siskins, 28 Redpolls, 5 Bullfinches (including a confirmed Northern Bullfinch ringed this afternoon) were all recorded.

At Holme NOA over 3000 Pink-feet were over the marshes and 400+ Wigeon were counted. 15 Shoveler, 8 Pochard and 25 Tufted Ducks were on the Broadwater, and a Kingfisher was in the area. At least 5 Woodcock were on the reserve during the day with another ringed in the morning. 130 Blackbirds, 1 Fieldfare, 6 Song Thrushes, 4 Redwings and 2 Mistle Thrushes moved through during the day, and a Stonechat was opposite the Broadwater. 5 Rock Pipits, 4 Meadow Pipits, 3 Blackcaps, 1 Chiffchaff, 40 Goldcrests, 15 Long-tailed Tits, 38 Chaffinches, 17 Bramblings, 22 Greenfinches, 10 Goldfinches, 5 Siskins, 1 Bullfinch, 20 Redpolls, 1 Snow Bunting and 2 Reed Buntings were logged, and a male Firecrest was at the west end of the reserve until mid morning.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 128 Wigeon, 4 Teal, 5 Eider, 1 Long-tailed Duck, 134 Common Scoter, 1 Goldeneye, 24 Red-throated Divers, 5 Great Crested Grebes, 1 Red-necked Grebe and 4 Slavonian Grebes, 95 Gannets, 83 Little Gulls, 6 Guillemots and 3 Razorbills. Two Woodcocks, 54 Snipe, 7 Black-tailed Godwits and a Spotted Redshank were of note, and 260 Blackbirds, 1 Fieldfare, 7 Song Thrushes and 20 Redwings moved through the reserve. A Female Blackcap, 56 Goldcrests and a Firecrest were logged, 9 Rock Pipits, 4 Stonechats 24 Bramblings, 28 Siskins, 23 Redpolls and a Bullfinch were seen during the day.

At least two Water Rails were calling in the reeds and a Stonechat was by the Broadwater. Two Blackcaps and a Firecrest were ringed and on the reserve 37 Goldcrests, a Jay and two Bullfinches were also of interest. Overhead migration included 16 Snipe, 38 Blackbirds, 3 Fieldfares, 1 Song Thrush, 5 Redwings, 21 Chaffinches, 13 Bramblings, 38 Greenfinches, 4 Goldfinches, 39 Siskins and 4 Redpolls.

A Goosander flew west along the Broadwater and 2 Marsh Harriers were of note. A Yellow-browed Warbler was on the reserve all day, favouring the silver birch. 2 Stonechats were along the edge of the broadwater. Overhead migration included 28 Skylarks, 16 Meadow Pipits, 7 Rock Pipits, 3 Pied Wagtails, 25 Blackbirds, 38 Fieldfares, 2 Song Thrushes, 5 Redwings, 3 Mistle Thrushes, 1407 Starlings, 26 Chaffinches, 2 Bramblings, 37 Greenfinches, 9 Goldfinches, 90 Siskins, 4 Linnets, 7 Reed Buntings and 19 Redpolls. A Cetti's Warbler was ringed mid morning and 40 Goldcrests and 20 Long-tailed Tits were in the pines.

At Holme NOA a Yellow-browed Warbler and two Firecrests were present, showing in the sycamore and the silver birch west of the Observatory for much of the day. A Woodcock was flushed mid morning. A White Wagtail flew over east and a Richard's Pipit was seen briefly on the Saltings. A Barred Warbler was again seen near the entrance gate to the NWT reserve. Overhead migration included 28 Skylarks, 12 Meadow Pipits, 4 Rock Pipits, 2 Pied Wagtails, 66 Blackbirds, 1 Fieldfare, 2 Song Thrushes, 8 Redwings, 4261 Starlings, 48 Chaffinches, 3 Bramblings, 139 Greenfinches, 39 Goldfinches, 34 Siskins, 12 Linnets and 6 Redpolls. 2 Cetti's Warblers were present and a flock of 26 Long-tailed Tits were also of note. A Barn Owl was hunting early evening.
Butterflies included a Peacock, 2 Red Admirals and 4 Commas.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 10 Eider, 79 Common Scoter, 2 Red-breasted Mergansers, 1 Red-throated Diver, 13 Great Crested Grebes, 32 Gannets, 1 Guillemot and 2 Razorbills. Eight Shorelark flew in off the sea late afternoon. 2,800 Pink-feet were on the marsh and 96 Brent Geese flew past offshore. 10 Little Grebes, 10 Shoveler, 13 Pochard and 15 Tufted Ducks were on the Broadwater, and a Kingfisher flew through calling. Overhead migration included 8 Meadow Pipits, 5 Rock Pipits, 4 Pied Wagtails, 59 Blackbirds, 41 Fieldfares, 7 Song Thrushes, 6 Redwings, 1 Tree Sparrow, 85 Chaffinches, 4 Bramblings, 160 Greenfinches, 20 Goldfinches, 8 Siskins, 20 Linnets, 2 Bullfinches and a Redpoll. 3 Stonechats were of note and a female Blackcap was in the scrub. A flock of 28 Long-tailed Tits and 25 Goldcrests were around the reserve.
At Walsey Hills a Great White Egret flew past at 2.22pm, and a Cetti's Warbler was on the reserve. 185 Lapwing were in fields behind Walsey. On Arnold's Marsh 19 Snow Buntings were on the shingle behind, and 128 Black-tailed Godwits, 116 Dunlin, 51 Curlew and 6 Little Egrets were of note. 2 Grey Phalaropes were seen off the end of the east bank at Cley.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 12 Gannets and a Razorbill. 3500 Pnik-feet were on the marsh late afternoon, and a Water Rail was calling from the reeds. A Tawny Owl was in the pines and a Great Spotted Woodpecker was of note. 23 Skylarks flew over together with 6 Meadow Pipits and 1 Rock Pipit. 25 Blackbirds, 6 Song Thrushes and 14 Redwings were on the reserve, and at least 3 Blackcaps were present. 26 Goldcrests were around the reserve and a male Firecrest was trapped and ringed, and still present on the reserve in the afternoon. A single Brambling, 121 Greenfinches, 25 Goldfinches and 4 Siskins flew over west.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 2 Eider, 386 Common Scoter, 3 Red-throated Divers, 8 Great Crested Grebes, 27 Gannets, 6 Arctic Skuas, an adult Little Gull, 6 Kittiwakes, 2 Common Terns, 8 Razorbills and 100+ Auk species. Over 2000 Pink-feet were on the marshes with several hundred arriving off the sea during the morning. 58 Brent Geese, 50 Teal, 2 Shoveler, 3 Pochard and 20 Tufted Ducks were also of note. 7 Little Egrets were between the Observatory and Thornham Point, and over 600 Golden Plover were viewable from Thornham sea wall. 24 Snipe were counted, and a Kingfisher flew along the Broadwater. Two Great Spotted Woodpeckers were in the pines together with 30 Goldcrests and 20 Long-tailed Tits, and 4 Stonechats were also of interest. Overhead migration included 70 Skylarks, 9 Meadow Pipits, 2 Rock Pipits, 531 Starlings, 3 Siskins, 101 Linnets and 4 Redpolls. Two female Blackcaps were in the scrub. A Barred Warbler was on the NWT dunes reserve near the entrance gate.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 4 Common Scoter, 2 Red-breasted Mergansers, 5 Great Crested Grebes, 3 Gannets, 1 Guillemot and 1 Razorbill. 16 Black-tailed Godwits flew east across the marsh and a Greenshank flew over calling. 4+ Stonechats were present and a Wheatear was at Thornham Point. 18 Meadow Pipits and 4 Rock Pipits, 32 Skylarks, 4 Siskins and 2 Redpolls flew over west.
Five Comma butterflies were on the reserve.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 177 Common Scoter, 2 Red-throated Divers, 3 Great Crested Grebes, 10 Gannets, 2 Guillemots and 4 Razorbills. At least 3 Stonechats were still present and a Greenshank flew over calling. Overhead passage included 15 Skylarks, 14 Meadow Pipits, 9 Rock Pipits, 4 Pied Wagtails, 25 Redwings, 480 Starlings 99 Chaffinches and 11 Siskins. A Cetti's Warbler was trapped and ringed mid morning.

Also of note were a Kingfisher, 8 Stonechats, 1 Wheatear (on the beach), 51 Blackbirds, 2 Song Thrushes, 24 Redwings, 1 Mistle Thrush, 4 Blackcaps, 1 Chiffchaff, 47 Goldcrests, 6 Bearded Tits, 29 Long-tailed Tits and one Jay.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 2 Barnacle Geese, 178 Wigeon, 260 Brent Geese, 35 Teal, 3 Pintail, 4 Eider, 157 Common Scoter, 3 Red-breasted MErgansers, 10 Red-throated Divers, 11 Great Crested Grebes, 24 Gannets, 5 Grey Herons, 1 Guillemot and 9 Razorbills.
Overhead migration included25 Skylarks, 1 Swallow, 27 Meadow Pipits, 11 Rock Pipits, 4 Grey Wagtails, 6 Pied Wagtails, 70+ Blackbirds, 32 Redwings, 2 Mistle Thrushes, 137 Greenfinches, 6 Goldfinches, 7 Bramblings, 20 Siskins and a Snow Bunting east. Also of note were a Common Sandpiper on the edge of the Broadwater, A Short-eared Owl seen with 2 Marsh Harriers over the marsh, and a Cetti's Warbler and a Yellow-browed Warbler were both ringed during the day.
Moth trapping produced 13 Large Wainscots, 1 Brown-spot Pinion, 1 Common Wainscot, 4 Lunar Underwings and a Rusty-dot Pearl.
At Walsey Hills 520 Starlings flew west, 2 Grey Wagtails flew over south, 1 Siskin east, and on the reserve a Cetti's Warbler and a Sloworm were of interest.

Migration included 22 Skylarks, 22 Meadow Pipits, 11 Rock Pipits, 1 Grey Wagtail, 5 Pied Wagtails, 7 Stonechats, 20 Blackbirds, 4 Mistle Thrushes, 3 Blackcaps, 20 Goldcrests, 25 Long-tailed Tits, 5 Jays, 430 Starlings, 2 Tree Sparrows, 4 Bramblings, 140 Greenfinches, 9 Goldfinches, 9 Siskins and 41 Linnets.
Moth trapping produced a Merveille du Jour, 3 Large Wainscots and a Chestnut moth.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 1 Red-throated Diver, 6 Great Crested Grebes, 1 Gannet, 1 Pom Skua, 1 Arctic Skua, 1 Guillemot and 7 Razorbills. Overhead migration included 23 Skylarks, 6 Rock Pipits, 2 Grey Wagtails, 25 Redwings, 4 Bearded Tits, 678 Starlings, 4 Bramblings, 6 Siskins and 9 Reed Buntings. A Ross' Goose was with 4000+ Pink feet on the marsh and a Woodlark was in the paddocks.

A Yellow-browed Warbler was still present but mobile, and overhead migration included 41 Snipe, 1 Greenshank, 9 Skylarks, 2 Rock Pipits, 2 Grey Wagtails, 19 Blackbirds, 7 Fieldfares, 6 Song Thrushes, 104 Redwings, 4 Jays, 10 Bramblings, 227 Greenfinches, 44 Goldfinches, 11 Siskins, 41 Linnets, 1 Bullfinch, 3 Reed Buntings and 4 Redpolls. Also on the reserve were 4 Blackcaps, 22 Goldcrests, 20 Long-tailed Tits, 2 Stonechats, 2 Kingfishers and a Water Rail.
A Humming-bird Hawk moth was of note in front of the Observatory, and a Small Copper, Comma and Red Admiral butterflies were also of interest.

Overhead passage included 21 Meadow Pipits, 14 Rock Pipits, 8 Redwings, 14 Blackbirds, a Spotted Redshank, 2 Greenshank, 7 Reed Buntings, 23 Chaffinches, 142 Greenfinches, 9 Bramblings, 11 Siskins, 4 Snow Buntings, 3 Song Thrushes, 26 Skylarks, 2 Bearded Tits and 7 Snipe. Also of note were 2 Little Egrets, 1 Golden Plover, a Kingfisher and 2 Water Rails.
Moth trapping produced a Pink-barred Sallow, 2 Large Wainscots, 3 Green Brindled Crescents, 1 White-line Dart, 5 Lunar Underwings, 3 Large Yellow Underwings, 1 Lesser Yellow Underwings and a Red-green Carpet.

At Holme NOA the Radde's Warbler was heard calling early morning but not seen all day. At least 2 Yellow-browed Warblers were present, a female Redstart, 2 Stonechats and a Wheatear were of note, and 46 Skylarks, 14 Shorelarks, 1 Tree Pipit, 52 Meadow Pipits, 20 Rock Pipits, 1 Grey Wagtail, 5 Pied Wagtails, 39 Chaffinches, 22 Bramblings, 100 Greenfinches, 60 Goldfinches, 45 Siskins, 40 Linnets, 7 Reed Buntings, 9 Redpolls flew over. A Ross' Goose was with 2350 Pink-feet around the marsh, and waders included 34 Snipe, 2 Black-tailed Godwits, 43 Redshank, 5 Greenshank and a Green Sandpiper. A Kingfisher was around the Broadwater and a Tawny Owl flew through the pines. Sea-watching produced 1 Eider, 560 Common Scoter, 9 Red-throated Divers, 5 Great Crested Grebes, 74 Gannets, a Shag, 2 Arctic Skuas, 1 Great Skua, 3 Sandwich Terns, 4 Arctic Terns and 14 Razorbills.

Friday 5th October 2007
At Holme NOA a Radde's Warbler was trapped and ringed, and still present (heard only) in the late afternoon. Two Great White Egrets flew past west early morning, and at least 3 Yellow-browed Warblers were on the reserve. A Cetti's Warbler was also ringed, and a Reed Warbler, 1 Tree Sparrow, 8 Bramblings, 59 Siskins and 12 Reed Buntings were also counted. A Tawny Owl was calling in the pines, and a Short-eared Owl was seen briefly hunting the marsh mid afternoon. A male Stonechat was south of the Broadwater in brambles, and 17 Meadow Pipits, 5 Rock Pipits and a probable Red-throated Pipit flew over west. 2 Swallows, a Great Spotted Woodpecker and a Kingfisher were also of interest. Seawatching produced 200 Common Scoter, 30 Gannets, 2 Sandwich Terns and 3 Razorbills. Over 2000 Pink-feet were on the marsh. Waders included a Golden Plover over, 1 Whimbrel and 3 Greenshank.
Moth trapping produced a Mallow, 2 Lunar Underwings, a Feathered Ranunculus, 1 Angle Shades and a Beaded Chestnut.

At Holme NOA 3+ Yellow-browed Warblers were on the reserve, and a Garden Warbler, 2 Rock Pipits, 5 Siskins, a Tawny Owl and a Water Rail were also of note. Seawatching produced 4 Common Scoter, 2 Great Crested Grebes and 25 Gannets.
A Red Admiral and a Small Tortoiseshell were near the visitors centre and moth trapping produced 2 Large Yellow Underwings, 1 Green Carpet, 1 Rosy Rustic, 1 Black Rustic, 1 LArge Wainscot, 1 Lunar Underwing and a Feathered Ranunculus.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 9 Eider, 200 Common Scoter, 3 Red-throated Divers, 4 Great Crested Grebes, 1 Slavonian Grebe, 2 Gannets, 1 Arctic Skua, 2 Little Gulls and 10 Sandwich Terns. 2 Yellow-browed Warblers were in the small sycamore south of the main bank at the west end of the reserve. A Redstart and a Pied Flycatcher were ringed, and a spectacular passage of finches included 500+ Chaffinches, 250+ Bramblings and 40 Siskins. Also of note were 12 Rock Pipits, 2 Kingfishers, 2 Greenshank, 20 Swallows, 3 Fieldfares and 7 Redwings.

A Yellow-browed Warbler was heard regularly throughout the day on the reserve, and was trapped and ringed mid afternoon. Also of note was a Kingfisher, a Green and Great Spotted Woodpecker, 16 Skylarks, 10 Swallows, 7 Meadow and 4 Rock Pipits, a female Stonechat, 17 Redwings, 2 Chiffchaffs, 128 Chaffinches, 29 Bramblings, 87 Greenfinches, 19 Goldfinches and 12 Siskins.
Moth trapping produced 2 Large Yellow Underwings and a White-line Dart. A Comma and a Red Admiral were in the dell.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 264 Common Scoter, 4 Red-throated Divers ,1 Black-throated Diver, 4 Great Crested Grebes, 96 Gannets, 7 Arctic Skuas, 2 Great Skuas, 29 Sandwich Terns and a Guillemot. A Kingfisher flew over the Broadwater, and migrants included 19 Meadow Pipits, 4 Rock Pipits, 4 Grey Wagtail, 20 Robin, 5 Song Thrushes, 12 Redwings, 4 Mistle Thrushes, 1 Garden Warbler, 30 Goldcrests, 4 Tree Sparrows, 18 Chaffinches, 2 Bramblings, 209 Greenfinches, 7 Goldfinches, 4 Siskins and 2 Redpolls.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 3 Common Scoter,3 Red-breasted Mergansers, 2 Red-throated Divers, 3 Great Crested Grebes, 70 Gannets, 1 Arctic Skua, 11 Sandwich and 4 Common Terns. On the reserve a Yellow-browed Warbler was trapped early morning and seen on and off throughout the day. A Great Grey Shrike was along the approach road mid morning and a Barred Warbler was in the NOA car park area for much of the day. Also of note on the reserve were a Kingfisher, 2 Reed Warblers, 1 Garden Warbler, 3 Great Spotted Woodpeckers, 1 Stonechat, 5 Bramblings, 37 Siskins and a single Redpoll. 3 Greenshank flew over calling as did 9 Rock Pipits, and 29 Song Thrushes, 28 Redwings and a Mistle Thrush were also of interest. 7 Snow Buntings were on the beach early evening.
A single Lunar Underwing was in the moth trap.
At Walsey Hills a Cetti's Warbler, 1 Lesser Whitethroat, 1 Brambling and a Little Gull were of note, together with 1000+ Pink-footed Geese over east. Nearby at Granborough Hill, Salthouse a Blyth's Reed Warbler, a Hobby and 3 Snow Buntings were of interest.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 3 Eider, 466 Common Scoter, 13 Red-throated Divers, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 1 Slavonian Grebe, 3 Fulmars, 1 Manx Shearwater, 65 Gannets, 1 Pom Skua, 1 Arctic Skua, 3 Great Skua, 18 Little Gulls, 1 Sabine's Gull, 9 Kittiwakes, 8 Sandwich Terns, 3 Arctic Terns, 3 Guillemots and 4 Razorbills. 2 Barn Owls were hunting the marsh, and 2 Kingfishers were around the reserve. A Woodcock was of note, and a Corncrake ran across the approach track. 12 Jays flew over the pines heading east, and 37 Meadow Pipits and 6 Rock Pipits flew over calling, together with a Grey Wagtail. 2 Redstarts, 2 Whinchats, 6 Stonechats, 1 Wheatear, a male Ring Ouzel, 20 Blackbirds, 30 Song Thrushes and 200 Redwings were counted. A Barred Warbler was opposite the car park, and on the reserve 2 Garden Warblers, 45 Goldcrests, 15 Bramblings, 200 Greenfinches, 80 Goldfinches, 9 Siskins, 8 Redpolls and a Lapland Bunting were logged. A Yellow-browed Warbler was in the sycamore by the obs late afternoon, and another was along Beech Road. A Pied Flycatcher was along the approach road and 2 Great Grey Shrikes were seen.
At Walsey Hills 1 Redstart, 1 Pied Flycatcher, 1 Ring Ouzel, 14 Bramblings, 1 Peregrine and 1 Hobby were noted. A Grey Phalarope was visible from the hilltop hide and 4 Little Gulls were behind the reserve. In the scrub a Garden Warbler and a Whitethroat were noted, and 6 Snow Buntings were on Cley Beach.

At Holme NOA seawatching produced 4 Brent Geese, 44 Wigeon, 30 Teal, 7 Eider, 1 Common Scoter, 1 Manx Shearwater, 55 Gannets, and 4 Great Skuas. On the reserve an arrival of Robins was of note together with 2 Grey Wagtails, 275 Redwings, 1 Reed Warbler, 4 Lesser Whitethroats, 15 Garden Warblers, 6 Blackcaps, 55 Goldcrests and 10 Bramblings.
Moth trapping produced a single Silver Y.
